Three teams, unforgettable team bonding, and tremendous growth on the pitch in Bettendorf, Iowa.

What a weekend for Franklin County Sports Club!

This past weekend, FCSC proudly traveled to Bettendorf, Iowa, to represent our county at the Midwest Columbus Day Cup, hosted by Tournament Guru at the premier TBK Bank Sports Complex. Bringing three of our competitive squads to an out-of-state showcase was a monumental milestone for our club, and our athletes delivered performances that made our entire community proud.

Rising to the Challenge on the Pitch

FCSC fielded three determination-filled teams during the tournament:

  • FCSC U13 Waves Girls
  • FCSC U14 Hydro Boys
  • FCSC U16 Riptide Girls

Facing off against high-caliber competition from across the Midwest, all three squads stepped onto the field with intensity, focus, and grit. Over the course of the weekend, the progress was unmistakable. Game by game, our players demonstrated remarkable growth in their soccer IQ, technical skill, decision-making under pressure, and tactical confidence. Testing our abilities against tough regional opposition proved exactly how far our athletes have come—and how much potential lies ahead.

Unforgettable Moments Off the Pitch

While the development on the field was incredible, the memories made off the pitch were equally impactful. Traveling as a club created a unique opportunity for our players, coaches, and families to connect and build lifelong bonds.

From engaging team workshops and tactical chalk talks to shared team breakfasts, lunches, and entertaining team dinners, the sense of community was electric. Seeing sea of blue-and-black FCSC apparel filling the sidelines, hotel lobbies, and local venues proved that FCSC is truly a family.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Sponsors

An event of this magnitude requires immense community support, and we want to extend a special shoutout and deep gratitude to two incredible local sponsors:

Thanks to their generous sponsorship, the tournament registration fees for two of our three traveling teams were fully covered. Their commitment to youth sports and investment in our local athletes directly enabled our players to experience this incredible out-of-state competition. We are deeply grateful for their partnership and support of the FCSC mission!

Looking Ahead

Our players return home stronger, sharper, and more united than ever. The lessons learned, confidence gained, and friendships deepened in Iowa will continue to fuel our teams as we finish our fall season strong.

Thank you to all of our coaches, players, team managers, and traveling families for making the Midwest Columbus Day Cup an overwhelming success!
