Building More Than Just a Field: FCSC Partners with New Haven on Vital Park Infrastructure
A $2,838.07 donation ensures long-term sustainability for both the City Pool and the upcoming Community Soccer Field

NEW HAVEN, MO — At Franklin County Sports Club (FCSC), our mission has always extended beyond the sidelines. While our primary focus is providing premier athletic opportunities for our youth, being a good neighbor means looking at the bigger picture. This week, we took a significant step in that direction.
FCSC is proud to announce a donation of $2,838.07 to the City of New Haven Park Board. This contribution is specifically earmarked for the purchase of materials to install a new, dedicated drain pipe for the New Haven City Pool.
Solving a Shared Challenge
As we continue the work of constructing a professional-grade grass soccer field at City Park, technical challenges often arise. One such challenge was the annual drainage of the city pool, which previously threatened the soil integrity and grading of the developing field. By funding this new infrastructure, FCSC is enabling the City’s Public Works team to manage pool drainage effectively without impacting the field’s foundation.
"Investing in this drain pipe is about protecting the future," says Alex J. Moraes, FCSC President and Executive Director. "It ensures that the resources being poured into the new soccer field aren't compromised by seasonal maintenance of other park facilities. We are all on the same team here."
Commitment to the Long Game
We know the community is eager to see the first whistle blow on this new field. Since breaking ground in September 2025, we have navigated contractor transitions and record-breaking wet weather. While delays are frustrating, we refuse to cut corners. We have partnered with local New Haven business Second Nature Excavation and Hardscapes to finalize the grading, ensuring that when Muddy Boots Services arrives to lay the seed, the foundation is perfect.
This donation is a testament to the fact that we aren't just "passing through"—we are planting roots. We are grateful for the collaboration of City Administrator Sarah Skeen, the Park Board, and the Public Works team for working with us to find solutions that benefit everyone who uses City Park.
Stay Tuned
As the ground dries and the heavy machinery returns to the site, we will continue to provide transparent updates.
