History Made: Recapping Our First FCSC MLS Go Season (And What’s Next!)

Celebrating an unforgettable inaugural spring, building a vibrant community, and looking toward the future of FCSC.

History has officially been made in Franklin County! This past Memorial Day, we blew the final whistle on our inaugural FCSC MLS Go Spring League season. What started as a vision to bring a world-class, fun, and accessible grassroots soccer experience to our community turned into a booming success—and it is all thanks to you.

When we launched this league, we hoped for a great turnout, but our community blew us away. We wrapped up our historic first season with 87 registered players, which allowed us to form 11 coed teams across 3 different age groups.

Every single game day was packed with energy, hosted at the beautiful grounds of Memorial Baptist Church in New Haven. The atmosphere was electric as our young athletes hit the pitch proudly wearing official MLS club kits—including St. Louis CITY SC, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, Columbus Crew, Philadelphia Union, FC Cincinnati, D.C. United, FC Dallas, and Inter Miami.

A Culture of Excellence, On and Off the Field

A successful league is built on more than just numbers; it’s built on community values. We were privileged to have matches managed by certified referees who kept the games fair, safe, and educational. Our coaches served as phenomenal, positive role models at every turn, teaching not just the fundamentals of soccer, but the value of sportsmanship and teamwork.

Most importantly, our players had an absolute blast learning the game, growing their skills, and making new friends. None of this would have been possible without our incredible MLS Go families. The sideline support was unmatched, creating an encouraging, positive environment that set the perfect standard for what youth sports should look like.

"Our goal from day one was to create a positive environment where kids fall in love with the game. Seeing 87 athletes out there smiling, competing, and wearing those MLS jerseys showed me that we built something truly special. This inaugural season didn't just meet our expectations—it laid down a permanent foundation for the future of soccer in our community."
