What an absolute whirlwind of a month! Throughout May, the fields at Union Middle School and Memorial Baptist Church in New Haven were absolutely buzzing with energy, talent, and a shared love for the game.

Now that the dust has settled on our Spring Kickarounds, we want to take a moment to look back at what made these past few weeks so special—and look forward to what comes next.

Franklin County Welcomes 169 Players to the Pitch

When we launched this year's Spring Series, we knew the momentum was building, but the turnout completely blew us away. Over the course of our sessions, 169 unique players stepped out onto the turf and grass to train, compete, and grow with us.

We were thrilled to welcome players from every corner of Franklin County. The talent pool was incredibly diverse, featuring:

  • Current FCSC standout athletes sharpening their skills.
  • Talented players from local independent teams looking for a new challenge.
  • Curious players from other clubs who wanted to step out of their comfort zones and experience "The FCSC Way" firsthand.

No matter where these players came from, they arrived with an open mind and a fierce work ethic. Seeing the immediate chemistry build between players who are normally rivals on the weekends was a beautiful reminder of what youth soccer is all about.

A Blast for the Players, A Masterclass by the Coaches

From our energetic U6 players navigating their "Chaos Phase" to the high-intensity tactical scrimmages of our U13–U18 groups, every single age bracket brought their A-game.

While the players were having a blast executing 1v1s, working through complex rondos, and playing small-sided games, our dedicated coaching staff was working hard behind the scenes. Using our 2026 curriculum structure, our lead coaches kept the tempo blazing fast while our shadow evaluators roamed the perimeters tracking development. We didn't just look for technical proficiency; we looked for character, grit, communication, and positional awareness.

Beyond the X’s and O’s, these kickarounds gave us a direct line to connect with so many incredible local families. Being able to share our club culture, define our core values, and layout our unified vision—One Club. One Goal.—is what truly sets the foundation for our competitive program.

Next Stop: Wrapping Up Tryouts!

The kickarounds were the perfect warm-up, but the real journey is just beginning. We are officially moving straight into our formal Tryouts Week. This is where we lock in our team rosters and fully build out the competitive squads that will represent Franklin County for the 2026/27 season.

If your player participated in our kickarounds and felt the spark of our training environment, or if you are an ambitious player ready to take your development to the next level, this is your moment. Roster spots are competitive, and spaces are filling up rapidly across all age groups. Don't leave your spot on the pitch to chance.
